Acanthus Mollis (Bear's Breech)
Striking glossy foliage complements large flower spikes, attractive in the garden or bouquet. Highlights a shaded garden or formal planting, or makes a unique foundation plant. Grows in full sun in cool climates. Needs winter mulch in the North.
2006 - has not grown (6 inches) - see top photo. Moved to new location, will see how it does in 2007.
2007 - well, did not see but a couple leaves again, then died back. Might look for a new plant and try again in 2008.

CULTIVATION: Average to poor or loamy, dry to semi moist, well drained soil in full sun.

Acanthus Mollis - best I have seen Acanthus Mollis - not in my backyard Acanthus Mollis - wish it would grow like this
