Heliopsis helianthoides 'Loraine Sunshine' (False Sunflower)
Beautiful white leaves with crisp green veins make this plant a show stopper for its foliage. Large yellow flowers appear from July and last until frost. Strong sturdy stems are excellent for cutting.
Mine did not reach half it's noted size in 2004. 2005 was a hard year for this plant: a dry year.
2004: Long lasting in vase!

CULTIVATION: Grow in moderately fertile, humus rich, moist but well drained soil in full sun. Divide every 2-3 years to maintain vigor. Taller species and cultivars may need support.
PROPAGATION: Sow seed in containers in a cold frame in spring. Divide in spring or autumn. Root basal cuttings in spring.
PESTS AND DISEASES: Prone to powdery mildew and rust.
